Leafs lose Game 4 to Nitehawks; series tied at 2

Nelson fell 5-2 in Fruitvale

The Nelson Leafs blew a 2-0 lead en route to a 5-2 loss against the Beaver Valley Nitehawks in Fruitvale on Tuesday.

The result means both teams are tied at two in the best-of-seven Neil Murdoch Series. Game 5 is Thursday in Nelson, followed by Game 6 in Fruitvale on Friday. A Game 7, if necessary, will be in Nelson on Saturday.

Rhett Hamilton and Bryce Sookro each scored for the Leafs in the first period before the Nitehawks scored five unanswered goals on Nelson goaltender Tenzin Mint, who made 37 saves.

Hayden Stocks scored twice for the Nitehawks, including once shorthanded, while Nathan Dominici also had two goals and Hunter Burgeson added one more.

Owen Albers was pulled from the Nitehawks net after giving up two goals on five shots. Kevin Engman replaced him and finished with 19 saves.
