The Nelson Leafs fell on a goal in double overtime in a 4-3 loss to the Border Bruins in Grand Forks on Tuesday.
Anthony Williams scored the winner for the Border Bruins, who rallied from a 2-0 deficit in the first period.
Bryden Pow, Kevin Lawrance and Reid Wilson each scored for the Leafs (21-11-5), while Tenzin Mint made 37 saves.
Kyle Bailey scored a hat trick for Grand Forks (12-23-2), which had a 33-save performance from goaltender Shane Zilka.
The Leafs next host the Kimberley Dynamiters on Friday.
