The Nelson Leafs are still searching for their first win of the season.

Nelson dropped a 4-3 overtime result to the Dynamiters in Kimberley on Friday before falling 4-3 at home to the Sicamous Eagles on Sunday.

In Kimberley, a goal by Leafs forward Bryden Pow with 1:28 left in regulation forced extra time before Tyler Cheetham gave the Dynamiters an OT win.

Reid Wilson and Lane Goodwin also scored for Nelson (0-2-2), while Curt Doyle finished with 38 saves.

Jackson Baumi, Beau Larson and Ollie Morberg each scored for Kimberley (4-0-0), which benefitted from a 28-save performance from Brad Nyen.

Two days later in Nelson, Wilson scored twice for the Leafs in a matinee loss to Sicamous.

Brayden Haskell and Brandon Pelletier scored opening goals for the Eagles (2-3-0), while Frazier Mohlar and Trysten Brookman added two more in the second period.

Wilson scored in the first, Jackson Vyse added another in the second and Wilson put one more in with five seconds left in the middle frame.

But no one scored in the third as the Leafs finished off their second straight weekend without a win.

Josh Bond allowed four goals on 14 shots in net for Nelson before handing the game over to Doyle, who was spotless against 14 shots. Eagles goaltender Koltin Dodge meanwhile finished with 35 saves.

Nelson next visits the Okanagan for a game against the Kelowna Chiefs on Friday and the North Okanagan Knights on Saturday. The Leafs’ next home game is Oct. 5 against the Grand Forks Border Bruins.
