Nelson is still unbeaten through nine games but the Leafs had to settle for a 4-4 tie on the road against the Beaver Valley Nitehawks on Saturday.

Michael LeNoury’s third-period goal forced extra time for Nelson, which had won eight straight games prior to the tie.

Shawn Campbell, Easton Jolie and Nicholas Onofrychuk also scored for the Leafs (27-9-2), while Hunter Young made 29 saves in net.

Ryan Crisalli scored twice and Bradley Ross and Jared Stocks added singles for Beaver Valley (19-14-5), which is 13 points back of the first-place Leafs in the Neil Murdoch Division. Saran Virdee meanwhile stopped 28 shots.

Nelson next visits the Fernie Ghostriders on Saturday before returning home for a Sunday matinee against the Golden Rockets.
