It’s almost as though David Sanchez never left.

The Nelson Leafs announced Tuesday they had re-acquired Sanchez after sending the 19-year-old to the Fernie Ghostriders in May for a player development fee.

The five-foot-10, 180-pound forward scored 11 goals and 13 assists in 47 games last season. He also had one goal and two assists in 15 playoff games.

Nelson opens the pre-season tonight on the road against the Beaver Valley Nitehawks before returning home tomorrow against the Revelstoke Grizzlies.

The Leafs’ regular season kicks off Sept. 7 at home to the North Okanagan Knights.
