Leafs rout Border Bruins 6-2

Nelson remains undefeated this season

The Nelson Leafs extended their perfect start to the season with a 6-2 rout of the Border Bruins in Grand Forks on Saturday.

Scott Lancaster scored twice as the Leafs used a four-goal third period en route to their sixth straight victory. The Kelowna Chiefs are the KIJHL’s only other undefeated team.

Jack Karran, David Sanchez, Kaleb Comishin and Taylor Paulovich also scored for Nelson, while Caiden Kreitz was spectacular in net with a 40-save performance.

Dalton Luce and Liam Stalwick had the only goals for Grand Forks (2-4-0), and Ross King allowed all six goals on 42 shots.

Nelson next hosts the Castlegar Rebels on Friday.
