Leafs stretch winning streak to 8 games

Hunter Young made 35 saves as the Nelson Leafs won their eighth straight game, 5-2 over the Border Bruins in Grand Forks on Friday.

Emery Neilson, Shawn Grobowsky, Reid Wilson, Keenan Crossman and Mitchell Lavoie each scored for the Leafs (27-9-1), who haven’t lost since Dec. 15.

Evan Gorman and Zane Avery replied for the Border Bruins (15-20-3), while Ross King gave up all five goals on 58 shots.

Nelson next visits the Beaver Valley Nitehawks on Saturday.
