Matti Erickson and Johnny Michalchuk led the L.V. Rogers senior boys basketball team to a first-place finish at a tournament Saturday in Trail.
The Bombers opened the event with a 76-58 loss to host J.L. Crowe Secondary before storming back to win its next three games.
LVR hammered Nakusp Secondary 74-22, held off Invermere’s David Thompson Secondary 59-45, then defeated J.L. Crowe 68-45.
Erickson, who was named tournament MVP, scored 30 points in the final while Michalchuk, who was a tournament all-star, had 20.
Meanwhile in Creston, the junior boys team lost its opener 71-44 to J.L. Crowe. That put the Bombers into consolation play, where they downed Castlegar’s Stanley Humphries 67-27 and David Thompson 67-26.
