Three Nelson athletes won medals at the BC Winter Games.
Cross-country skier Dawson Abraham took gold in the 2009 boys interval start classic event as well as a silver in the overall event.
Emerson Mandseth and Rebecka Van Hellemond also earned artistic gymnastics medals. Mandseth won silver in women’s vault, while Van Hellemond took bronze in women’s beam.
Seventeen local athletes competed in six events at the provincial competition, which was held Feb. 22 to 25 in Quesnel.
