Nelson Boxing Club preps for hometown card

The event Saturday at Nelson Rod and Gun Club will raise funds for local boxers to attend a Golden Gloves event.

Local boxers are giving their speed bags a final workout ahead of the Nelson Boxing Club’s first hometown card.

The Fight Night Fundraiser, which will help the club send athletes to the Golden Gloves event next month in Quesnel, will tentatively feature 14 bouts Saturday at the Nelson Rod and Gun Club.

Doors open 6 p.m. Tickets are $20 for purchase at Tribute Boardshop and El Taco.
