The Nelson Boxing Club fought under sunny skies in Kellogg, Idaho, on an outdoor card earlier this month.

Stryder Sutton won his debut match against Cranbrook’s Conner Ferrier by unanimous decision. Sutton has been training for about five months and did a great job to win against a very tough opponent.

Riel Martinez lost a close decision to David Calderon of Portland, Ore. Martinez showed great defence and counter punching but was outworked down the stretch.

Elias Martinez lost a very debatable split decision against Bryson Kearney from Hamilton, Mo. After a back and forth first round Elias settled down and appeared to dominate the last two rounds with clean, hard punches, while Kearney did well to stay in the fight and impressed with his toughness.

The club holds its next card Nov. 4 at the Nelson Rod and Gun Club.
