Three Nelson figure skaters took part in provincials earlier this month.
Kailee Stewart, Taylor Singer and Aili Brackett competed for the Nelson Figure Skating Club at the event, which was held Nov. 10 to 13 in Coquitlam.
Stewart made her provincials debut in the juvenile under-12 category, where her performance to music from Home Alone earned her a 29th-place finish.
Singer, skating to music from Aladdin in the pre-novice category, earned a personal best score of 22.84 points in the short program. That moved Singer to the long program, where she finished 41st out of 56 skaters.
Brackett meanwhile skated in the juvenile U14 category. Her program to Romeo and Juliet included her first ever successful double loop in a competition and a 41st-place finish.
All three skaters are expected to represent the Kootenays at the B.C. Winter Games in March.
