Nelson Leafs defeat the Bruins

The shots kept coming on Friday night as the Nelson Leafs hammered the puck into the net of the Grand Forks Border Bruins leading to a 11-1 win.

The Leafs dominated their Friday night game against the Grand Forks Border Bruins winning the game 10-1.

The shots kept coming on Friday night as the Nelson Leafs hammered the puck into the net of the Grand Forks Border Bruins leading to a 11-1 win.

The Leafs took the lead in the first period when James Sorey scored the first goal of the night.

Sorey's goal was followed by three more in the first period.

Nik Newman, Walker Sidoni and Bret Norman scooped the puck past the Bruins goalie, giving the Leafs a 4 goal lead.

But with only a minute and a half left in the first the Bruins scored their only goal of the game.

The Leafs took a 5-1 lead with a goal from Dallon Stoddart.

With only seconds left in the second period the Leafs took a five goal lead with a goal from Max Mois.

The Leafs didn't ease off the Bruins in the third period.

They continued to power past Grand Forks.

James Sorey scored his second goal of the night in the third period making the score 7-1.

Seconds later Cameron Dobransky made the score 8-1 with another strong goal.

Just after the half way more of the third period Carson Willians scored his first goal of the night which was followed up four minutes later with a short handed goal by Max Mois.

Leafs vet Patrick Martens scored the final goal of the night with two minutes left in the third period.

Nelson will take the ice again tomorrow night at the Nelson and District Community Complex to take on the Creston Valley Thunder Cats.

The puck drops at 7 p.m.
