The Nelson Leafs’ perfect start to the season is over.

The Columbia Valley Rockies scored three unanswered goals en route to a 4-2 win over the Leafs on Saturday in Invermere.

Nelson (7-1-0) had won its first seven games of the regular season, and has the second-best record in the KIJHL behind the still-undefeated Kelowna Chiefs.

Emery Neilson and David Sanchez had Nelson’s goals against the Rockies, while Caiden Kreitz allowed all four goals on 29 shots.

Dylan Fontaine, Gavin Fleck, Erik Lloyd and Connor Davison scored for Columbia Valley (5-2-0), with Ben Kelsch turning aside 39 shots for the win.

Nelson next plays the Castlegar Rebels at home on Friday.
