Nelson Leafs lose third straight

The Nelson Leafs are on a three-game losing streak after falling 6-4 to the Braves in Spokane on Wednesday.

Tenzin Mint got his first start of the season in the Leafs’ net but allowed three goals on seven shots within the first 10 minutes of the game. C.J. Wedenig took over and finished with 34 saves.

Kaleb Comishin scored twice while Tyler Nypower and Jack Karran added singles for Nelson (13-4-0).

Bear Hughes had two goals for Spokane (8-6-0), with Alex Moore, Alex Enegren, Aaron Morris and Derek Humphreys scoring a goal apiece. Campbell Arnold meanwhile stopped 42 shots.

Nelson next visits the Chase Heat on Friday and the 100 Mile House Wranglers on Saturday. The Leafs return home Nov. 17 against the Fernie Ghostriders.
