The Nelson Leafs split a pair of road games during a weekend trip to the East Kootenay.
Nelson opened up a 3-0 lead en route to a 4-3 win over the Ghostriders in Fernie 4-3 on Friday.
Todd Hiscock, making his debut in net for the Leafs, stopped 42 shots in the win. Parker White, Carsyn Crawford, Ty Nykyforuk and Camron Wickham each scored for Nelson (2-1-0).
Eli Neilsen, Kaden Slobodian and Taylor Haggerty replied for the Ghostriders (1-1-0), while Aiden Kruhlak made 32 saves.
One day later the Leafs were blown out in their first trip to Kimberley.
The Dynamiters scored five unanswered goals before earning a 6-1 win over Nelson.
Craw Dawson had the lone goal for Nelson in the third period. Jackson McLeod allowed three goals on 19 shots before being replaced by Hiscock, who allowed another three goals on just eight shots.
Penalties cost Nelson, which gave up three goals on eight power plays for Kimberley.
Kade Leskosky scored twice for the Dynamiters (3-1-0), with Luke Rothfos, Dryden Harding, Tristan Weill and Nicholas Hughes adding singles. Matt Fleet earned the win in net with 20 saves.
Nelson next returns home for a four-game home stand that includes three straight games next weekend. The Leafs face the Beaver Valley Nitehawks on Friday, followed by the Creston Valley Thunder Cats on Saturday and the Spokane Braves during a matinee Sunday.
