Nelson Leafs stretch winning streak to 5

The Leafs secured wins in Golden and Invermere

The Nelson Leafs are on a five-game winning streak after taking a pair of wins against the Columbia Valley Rockies and Golden Rockets.

Joe Davidson scored twice and added an assist as the Leafs doubled the Rockies 6-3 on Friday in Invermere.

Carter White, Simon Nemethy, Johnny Carmichael and Ryan Quast also scored for Nelson (22-9-1), while goaltender Tenzin Mint made 38 saves.

Reed Sparrow, Dylan Malarchuk and Kaelan Shelton replied for the Rockies (22-8-3). Their goalie, Grady Nicholas, was forced to stop 51 shots in the loss.

The next day in Golden, Mint stopped 31 shots for the shutout en route to Nelson’s 4-0 win over the Rockets.

Tyler Pisiak, Liam Noble, Nemethy and Carmichael each scored for the Leafs, who pelted the Rockets with shots. Levi Hall finished with 45 saves for Golden (9-20-2).

The Leafs next visit the Castlegar Rebels on Tuesday. They return home Friday against the Kimberley Dynamiters.
