Two Nelson paddlers competed on the national stage last week.
Heather Potkins and Quinn Currie represented the Nelson Kayak and Canoe Club at the Canadian Sprint Canoe Kayak Championships in Sherbrooke, Que.
Potkins finished sixth overall in the under-19 female C-1 1,000-metre race. She was also fifth in her 500 heat and eighth in her heat for the 200.
Currie meanwhile finished ninth in his heat for the U19 men’s K-1 200, eighth in a C-1 500 heat and eighth in the C-1 1,000.
