Lua Gerun and Shiloh Perkins are the first recipients of the inaugural Walter Denhel Memorial Award.
The award will be presented each year by the Nelson Youth Soccer Association to its Volunteer of the Year.
The award was donated to NYS by Justin Pelant of Ted Allen’s Jewelry in memory of Walter Denhel who was a long-time volunteer in the association.
Gerun and Perkins have been in charge of Nelson Youth Soccer’s rep program and have been volunteering as NYS board members since 2008.
