Nelson swimmer wins 6 medals at North American Indigenous Games

A Nelson Neptunes swimmer has captured six medals from the North American Indigenous Games held last week in Halifax.

Kallie Badry, 16, won four individual medals and two more with an under-16 girls relay squad as part of Team B.C.

Badry earned silver medals in the 50-metre backstroke and 200 backstroke, a bronze in the 100 breaststroke and another bronze in the 200 breaststroke.

She also helped secure silvers in the 4x50 freestyle relay and the 4x100 relay.

Badry will next compete at the BC Summer Swimming Association’s provincial championships in Nanaimo on Aug. 18 to 21.
