Nelson has been selected to host the 2023-24 British Columbia Under-18 Tier 3 Championships, which will run from March 17 to 20 and includes the top-eight teams from B.C. and the Yukon.

The championships are a rare privilege bestowed on each region approximately every six-to-eight years. This year’s host team is a combined team of Nelson and Castlegar players.

The tournament is a terrific economic generator and showcase for the host community, drawing hundreds of families, friends and young athletes to local businesses for a week, or more.

B.C. hockey championships are scheduled during school districts’ spring break when families often travel and discover new areas of our province.
