Nelsonites off to curling provincials

Nelsonites Carol Bennett and Cathy McLeod helped the Marnie Matthews rink of Trail to a berth at the senior women’s curling provincials in Richmond.

At the regional playdowns this month in Grand Forks, Bennett and McLeod played second and lead on the rink skipped by Matthews, which also featured Rose Beauchamp of Trail as third.

They beat the Heather Nichol rink of Trail in the final. The provincials will be held Feb. 15 to 21.
