The Kootenay Swim Club showed they are a force to be reckoned with by making waves at their last swim meet before the New Year in Kamloops.

Nelson’s Kelsey Andrusak, blew the competition out of the water with eight best times, three bronze medals in 50m breaststroke, 100m breaststroke and 200m freestyle and two gold medals in 50m and 100m freestyle. Jordan Andrusak didn’t disappoint either in the water with seven best times and three bronze medals in 200m freestyle, 400m freestyle and 100m breaststroke.

Niallan Collier and Gabrielle Hanvold had great swims placing in the top-eight in six events and swimming best times throughout the meet. James Pilla and Maneet Natt, the newest members to the club, swam best times and a hard earned silver medal went to James Pilla in the 50m backstroke.

The Kootenay Swim Club placed third in the small teams category leaving coach, Dustin Boyachek, very proud.

The Kootenay swimmers will be taking a break over the Christmas holidays, but will be back in the water in the New Year to get ready for AA’s and AAA provincials.
