Nelson’s Dawson Abraham wins bronze at high school track provincials

The Trafalgar student finished third in the 1,500

Nelson’s Dawson Abraham won bronze at the B.C. High School Championships in Langley last weekend.

Abraham, who attends Trafalgar Middle School, finished on the podium in the Grade 8 boys 1,500-metre race with a time of four minutes 26.68 seconds. Abraham also finished fourth in the 800 with a new personal best of 2:10.42.

Trafalgar was also represented by Aleah Smith in the 1,500 and 800 and by Ruby Nay in the 3,000. L.V. Rogers was represented by Mitchell Erickson in the 800 and 1,500, and Maya Abraham in the 100 and 400 hurdles events.

Although they were not able to obtain medals, all ran new personal bests in their events.

Over 2,000 competitors from schools across the province were in attendance.
