Noble scores 3, Nelson Leafs beat Nitehawks 4-3

The Leafs have a 6-point lead atop the division

Liam Noble scored a hat trick as the Nelson Leafs beat the Beaver Valley Nitehawks 4-3 on Tuesday in Fruitvale.

Noble scored a goal in each period including the game winner on a man advantage late in the third.

Seamus Boyd also scored for Nelson (16-8-1), while Dylan Marshall made 29 saves.

Owen Albers kept the Nitehawks in the game with a 49-save performance. Austin McLean, Hayden Stocks and Nathan Dominici each had singles for Beaver Valley (13-10-1).

The win moves Nelson six points ahead of Beaver Valley atop the Neil Murdoch division heading into the holiday break.

The rivals meet again in Fruitvale on Dec. 30, followed by a game in Nelson on Dec. 31.
