NYS to send seven teams to provincials

The under-16 girls will defend their title next month in Surrey

The under-16 Selects girls team is returning to defend its gold medal at next month’s soccer provincials.

The team, which in 2016 won Nelson’s first provincial title in six years, will be joined by two other girls teams and four boys teams.

On the girls side, the U13 and U18 teams will also be competing in Surrey, July 6 to 9. The U18 side will look to improve on its silver-medal performance from last year.

The boys teams meanwhile will feature U13, U14, U16 and U18 players in Vernon, also on July 6 to 9.
