Local rugby player Rowan Megale has been selected to the B.C. under-18 rugby team.

Megale, who played winger for the L.V. Rogers Bombers, was invited to tryout for the team earlier this summer. He’ll next travel to Ireland on Aug. 10 for a series of games against international programs, while also getting to attend Canada’s game against New Zealand at the Women’s Rugby World Cup.

Megale is also a two-sport athlete who won gold and set a provincial record in powerlifting in April.
