Sihota, Lovan lead after Day 1 at B.C. Juvenile Championships

The three-day provincial tournament is underway at Granite Pointe

Jeevan Sihota and Claire Lovan are the leaders after the first round of the B.C. Juvenile Championships.

Sihota of Victoria fired a 7-under-par 65 to take a commanding five-stroke lead over Kelowna’s Matt Hopley in boys play at Granite Pointe on Wednesday.

Castlegar’s Nic Jenner is in a tie for third at 1-under 71.

Other local players include Castlegar natives A.J. Roberts (81) and William Watt (84), along with Rossland’s Xander Bankes (87) and Brendon Makeiv of Nelson (99).

On the girls side, Surrey’s Lovan has a four-stroke advantage after finishing the day with a 3-under 71.

The three-day tournament ends Friday.
