Nelson’s Kristina Little and Nathan Small finished fifth at the provincial mixed curling doubles championships in Hope.

Little and Small held a 5-2 record after pool play but lost 6-4 in a tiebreaker match for a playoff berth. The pair could have scored four points in the seventh end, but just missed a shot. In the final end, Small and Little had a shot to win but missed again.

The event, which made its Olympic debut at the 2018 Pyeongchang Games, features one male and one female player competing in eight ends instead of the typical 10.

Small and Little were one of 16 teams taking part in provincials, which ran Feb. 26 to March 1.

Next up for Small is the mixed provincial championships in April. Small will compete with a team comprised of athletes from Maple Ridge and Kamloops.
