A Nelson snowboarder has booked his ticket to a national championship.

Finnegan Megale won silver in the men’s under-15 snowboard cross final at the provincial championship Sunday in Kelowna.

Megale won a $200 bursary from B.C. Snowboard and will also be invited to nationals, which runs April 4 to 9 in Mont Tremblant, Que.

Megale also captured a pair of silver medals at the Western Canada Snowboard Cross Series in men’s under-15 races at Lake Louise, Alta., last month.
