The Koot-Neigh Vaulters started out the season with a great showing at the N.E.W. Fest in Colville, Washington late last month.

Participants included Kaylee Shukin, Cloe Comstock, Taylor Robertson, Sarah Fear, Lara Lammers, Devin Fear, Korynn Weber, Rowen Weber, Naomi Weber (coach/lunger), Poppy Ross-Herbison, Victoria Woodbridge and Noor Lammers with their team horses Tesslin and Quinette.

They competed in walk, trot and canter classes, pairs, barrel and team, collectively earning 12 firsts, three seconds, four thirds, one sixth and two sevenths.

The next competition the team is gearing up for will be a mini-fest in Kettle Falls, Washington at the end of the month and then they will be traveling to Chilliwack in June.

The team held a fundraiser garage sale this spring, but due to the poor weather they are holding a continuation of this on Saturday, May 14 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 2218 Falls Street  in Nelson.

The team will be doing demonstrations during this sale of their skills on the barrel for all to see what vaulting is all about. The team is also doing a demonstration on the horse at Kaslo May Days in Kaslo on May 21.
