Two silvers for Neptunes at provincials

Nelson swimmers Cynthia Pfeiffer and Lachlan Bibby-Fox each brought home medals from the provincial championships.

Pfeiffer finished second in the Girls Div 8 100-metre backstroke, just .65 seconds off the gold-medal time. Nelson’s Sarah Broen meanwhile was just shy of a podium spot in fourth.

Bibby-Fox also took silver in the Boys Div 2 50 breaststroke.

Thirteen swimmers from the Nelson Neptunes travelled to Kamloops for provincials, which ran Aug. 18 to 20.

Other results included: Sage Cowan finished fifth in Girls Div 7 200 individual medley, sixth in 100 butterfly and eighth in 100 freestyle. Madeline Holitzki was sixth in Girls Div 5 100 breaststroke. Broen also had an eighth-place result in Div 8 100 butterfly.

Nelson finished sixth in the Girls Div 8 200 freestyle relay.
