U13 soccer team settles for gold instead of slurpees

The Nelson under-13 boys soccer team brought home gold from the Kamloops Slurpee Cup.

The team tied Vernon 2-2 on Monday to first first based on least amount of goals scored against through four games played.

Earlier in the weekend tournament, the team shut out Terrace 3-0, defeated Pemberton 3-1 and downed Port Albernie 5-2.

Tiger Good and Alex Sowiak were named team MVP's by coaches Eric Sollid and Kurt Dehnel.
