Mason Scott and Cayenne Caney were among the local skiers to win trophies at the Junior Freeski Open last weekend at Whitewater Ski Resort.
Scott captured the boys 15-18 year division with a score of 68.20, only .13 points ahead of his Whitewater teammate Adam Kuch.
Caney, meanwhile, dominated the girls 15-18 division by cruising to a win five points ahead of runner-up Cedar Cameron-Harding of Revelstoke.
Whitewater athletes also took first place in both 12-14 divisions. Wyatt Atkins won the boys side, while Jaime Moynes eked out a win in the girls competition.
In the under-12 boys division, Red Mountain’s Rudy Steeves held off Whitewater’s Milan McLorie, while Gemma Leishman took first place in the girls division.
