Whitewater athlete Ben Woodward has a silver medal after finishing second at the Freeride World Junior Championships in Kappl, Austria.
Woodward’s run included a left-side 360 as well as a massive drop off a cliff that he landed to score 1,020 points, which was good for second behind Switzerland’s Dylan Lavenex.
It’s the third straight year a Whitewater Ski Resort athlete has finished second at the event. Sol Butler was on the podium last year, while Nigel Ziegler won silver in 2016.
Meanwhile, Nelson’s Trace Cooke finished the Freeride World Tour season with a 20th-place finish in Fieberbrunn, Austria, earlier this month.
The result means Cooke finishes 18th overall out of 24 skiers on the Tour.
