Nelson’s U17 girls earned their spot at next month’s Provincial B Cup in Penticton with an impressive pair of wins, —2-1 and 5-2 — over rival Kootenay South in a home-and-home series to decide the Kootenay champ.

The Nelson U13 Boys Selects earned the right to represent the Kootenay Columbia at the Provincial B Cup by winning a dramatic shoot-out against Kootenay South in the provincial playdowns held in Castlegar this past weekend.

The Kootenay Lake Sailing Association gave kids a chance to try the sport with an open house at Lakeside Park on Sunday.

CHRISTINA LAKE — Granite Pointe’s Nolan Taylor picked up his first win of the West Kootenay Junior Golf Circuit season last Saturday in Christina Lake. Taylor needed extra holes, but eventually triumphed over Tanner Kopan who was playing on his home course.
