The Capitol Kids Series presents its final performance of the season Sunday April 10 at 2 p.m. with The Velveteen Rabbit as told by acclaimed actor/singer Kathryn Popham.

Popham has just released a new CD. This recording  features an unabridged performance of The Velveteen Rabbit along with a collection of original songs inspired by this timeless children’s story.

With inspired performances, appealing music, and a unique mix of story and song, The Velveteen Rabbit recently won a Parents’ Choice Recommended Award.

According to a review on the Parents Choice Foundation, “with delivery that is true and full of life, Kathryn Popham treats listeners to her tender rendition of this classic story.” Come see this performance live at the Capitol Theatre.

The Velveteen Rabbit, a modern children’s classic, is the beautiful tale by Margery Williams is in which a stuffed toy rabbit learns what it means to be real. This splendid dramatic adaptation portrays a young child’s world of special toys.

“When a child loves you for a long time, not just to play with, but really loves you, then you become real”, explains the Skin Horse in the story.

This presentation, with its lovely masks, puppets and props is an excellent introduction to the world of theatre.

All tickets are priced at $12.50 and are available at the Capitol Box office. You can also charge by phone at 250-352-6363 or buy online at capitoltheatre.bc.ca.
