The oil that spilled from a ferry at the Balfour terminal in April is now gone.

A statement released by Interior Health on Tuesday said an environmental consulting report showed no evidence of gear oil along a 400-metre stretch of Kootenay Lake shoreline.

Approximately 400 litres of gear oil had leaked out of the Osprey 2000 while it was docked in April. The nearby beach hadn’t been contaminated but IH kept the water off-limits during the clean-up efforts.
