Application for a permit amendment under the Environmental Management Act.

We, Boards by George Lumber Inc., 209 Lardeau River Road, Meadow Creek, British Columbia V0G 1N0 intend to submit an application to the Director to amend Air Permit 11672, issued July 6th, 1994, which authorizes the discharge of air emissions from a sawmill facility.

The land upon which the facility is situated, and the discharge occurs is located at 209 Lardeau River Road, Meadow Creek, British Columbia V0G 1N0 (PID: 014-684-021), within the municipality of Meadow Creek.

The amendment requests that the following conditions be changed from including only wood waste landfill and open burning to including the planer cyclone and kilns as part of the permit. The maximum rate of air emissions discharged from this facility is 65 Sm3/min, for the planer cyclone. The maximum operating hours for the cyclone is a total of 2080 hours per year. The kilns operate a total of 1000 hours per year. The characteristics of the air emissions from the cyclone are particulate matter with a maximum concentration of 115 mg/m3.

Any person who may be adversely affected by the proposed amendment and wishes to provide relevant information may, within 30 days after the last date of posting, publishing, service or display, send written comments to the applicant, with a copy to the Director, Environmental Protection, at the Ministry of Environment, #401 – 333 Victoria St., Nelson, BC, V1L 4K3.
