Tracy Marie Barry (nee Suffredine)

May 2, 2010

TRACY MARIE (SUFFREDINE) BARRY, 60 With grieving hearts we regret to announce the sudden passing of Tracy Barry. Tracy fell ill and passed peacefully in hospital during the early morning hours of Sunday May 2, 2010. She is survived by her children Alison, Scott (Julia), and Ryan, her mother Myrtle Suffredine, and brother Blair Suffredine (Judi). Tracy was born to Wray and Myrtle Suffredine in December 1949 and raised in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. She graduated from the University of Saskatchewan in 1971 with a Bachelor of Science, double majoring in Biology and Sociology. Along the way, Tracy met Tim Barry and they married in 1970. Tracy became a proud mother in 1975 with the birth of her daughter. Three years later, Tracy moved to Nelson and was ?blessed? with the birth of her twin boys. Tracy actively volunteered with several community organizations including the Emergency Social Services Committee, Red Cross, Crisis Line, and Air Cadets. A passionate bridge player, she combined her love of the game with her interest in computers, co-founding the BridgeAddicts IBAA website. Tracy also enjoyed gardening, travel, and sharing the company of others. Tracy lived well and touched many with her selfless dedication to others. Her culinary skill and quick (and sometimes dry) wit often sparked late gatherings with family and friends. She will always be remembered as a beautiful daughter, loving mother, dear sister, and devoted friend. The outpouring of love and support from Tracy?s community has been a testament to the impressions she made throughout her life. Tracy will be honoured and her life celebrated at 815 3rd Street, Saturday May 8 between 2 and 5pm. Her eulogy will be read shortly after 4 o?clock. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that gifts in Tracy's memory be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association (www.diabetes.ca) or to the Heart & Stroke Foundation (www.heartandstroke.bc.ca).
