HUGS AND SLUGS: When is it really closing time?

A reader gets saucy about a coffee shop trying to shut down for the day

HUGS: Many thanks and hugs to R. and S. These two Nelson women combined agility and smarts in ‘rescuing’ a briefcase that had tumbled from the rooftop my car on to Gyro Park Road. You know the logistics!

HUGS: A huge hug to the nurses who took such good care of my husband in his last days. Thank you.

SLUGS: To the dog walker on Selby Street who leaves poop bags in Prince Philip Park and on the street next to driveways.

SLUGS: To the local coffee shop that told (not asked) three of us to leave just at closing time in order to sweep the floor. It was 4 p.m. on a Saturday. Our guest visiting from Kelowna was not impressed. We will not be back. Cool your jets. Another 10 minutes wouldn’t kill you.

HUGS: To the early morning City of Nelson staff that power wash and sweep the main Highway 3A sidewalks and streets through town. Looks great.

HUGS: To all those who pick up trash anywhere of all types.
