LETTER: Leave Christ in Christmas

Letter writer hopes her letter isn’t offensive.

“It might be a holiday to you, but it is Christmas to me.”

I am told that the statement may be offensive to others, however, I find it offensive when Christ is left out of Christmas, and replaced by Santa Claus, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, gifts we can’t afford and stress, etc.

It does my heart good when I see the nativity scene displayed outside the Bethel Christian Centre, rather than a dead fir tree covered in tinsel and ornaments. Let us, at this time of the year and the whole year through, treat each other with respect and to treat each other as we would like to be treated. In the end, we are all more alike than different.

Merry Christmas to all.
