Both Kootenay Lake Hospital and Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital are overdue for replacements for their increasingly outdated CT scanners (think iPhone 5 vs. iPhone 15).

Our region’s CT machines have been troubled with breakdowns and downtimes over the last two years. Disappointingly, despite previous commitments for action, replacements and upgrades are again delayed: “Not this year.”

I suggest the public needs to get curious about the Ministry of Health and Interior Health priorities for patient care needs in the Kootenays.
