Re: Slocan council votes to join proposed lawsuit against ‘Big Oil’, March 5

I see the courageous and principled members of Slocan Village Council have voted to join a proposed lawsuit against big oil.

Super. But why stop at big oil?

Certainly if they’re going after Shell and Mobil for the harm they’ve done, these brave crusaders must stay true to their principles and sue Pfizer, Seagrams, McDonald’s, Philip Morris, Lockheed, Browning, Boeing, and of course the governments of China, India and the U.S.A. as the top three coal-burning nations on planet Earth.

I’m sure the list will grow as these noble litigants scour the globe for those who do harm at every level.

To stop at big oil would suggest this proposed lawsuit is just another piece of easy political theatre from the endless parade of self-righteous scolds.
