The Nelson Police Department, with the assistance of the RCMP, have identified and arrested a suspect in an alleged assault on two teenage girls in Nelson on March 15.
Matthew Huber has been charged with one count of assault.
The assault occurred when the suspect targeted the victims without any apparent motive at Cedar and Front Streets. Witnesses intervened and followed the suspect for some time before losing sight of him in the downtown core.
According to a March 20 police news release, Huber appeared in court on March 19 and was released from custody on numerous conditions.
Due to a publication ban, no further information was released.
