Diana Lockwood has been re-elected to her second term, albeit barely, as Salmo’s mayor.
Lockwood defeated challenger Jonathon Heatlie by just 30 votes in the B.C. General Local Elections on Saturday.
She earned 236 votes to hold off Heatlie, who garnered 206 after serving two terms on council.
Lockwood was first elected to council in 2014 before ascending to the mayoral seat in 2018.
The rest of Salmo’s council will include Todd Wallace (356), incumbent Jennifer Lins (347), Kenzie Neil (329) and Melanie Cox (285).
Anne Williams was the lone council candidate on the ballot not to make the final cut with 210 votes.
